Tips to Managing Family Stress

We talked with Dr. Sher this morning about managing your stress in these turbulent economic times. She shared with us 8 tips.

Tips to Managing Family Stress

1. Take a deep breath, admit you are stressed
2. Assess the stressor, what is causing the stress
3. Picture yourself without the problem, visualize the end result
4. Talk about your stress with someone you trust
5. Make a decision if you need professional help or if you can manage the stress yourself (like an accountant, minister, counselor)
6. Plan the work and work the plan. Create a coping plan customized for you.
7. Reframe the stress in a positive light
8. Seek out humor… you should listen to Bill & Amy every morning.
